Little boys...you just never know what is next. After a morning of hitting each other, stealing one another's food, chasing eachother (sometimes laughing, sometimes crying), they took a nap. Dalton woke up first. He found the chocolate I was using to make Christmas candy. After I gave him a piece, he asked for another one. I watched as he went into the room where Braxton was still sleeping and he tried to wake him up. He kept saying, "Braxton, wake up - I have chocolate for you!" Braxton woke up, took the chocolate, said thanks and went back to sleep! Dalton left the room with a satisfied smile on his face. Mom left the room barely able to contain herself!

We are sad to announce our first Christmas present fatality...
Our beloved 'Go Fishin' game will be laid to rest on Monday morning after the 10:00am trash pickup.
We decided to give the kids an early present. After a night of fun and laughter, we found the fish pond covered in tapioca pudding and stuffed full of tooth picks. Dad worked tirelessly to bring it back to life, but to no avail. So now, Dalton plays with the fish - or should I say he 'feeds' the fish. The lesson in all of this? I went out today and bought the new big ziploc bags. Every new toy will have a bag and every bag will be behind a locked door!

So, this is it...for now.

The Christmas tree is always a big deal to me. This year, the plan was to have it up and decorated the day after Thanksgiving. Well, we have tried to decorate it for two weeks now. We had about 10 ornaments on it, but between the kids and the cats, only 1 remains (Braxton showed Dalton how to go 'fishing' for ornaments). So, we decided that only white lights shall adorn our beloved Christmas tree for now. We are going to decorate it on Christmas Eve. That way, at least it will be intact for Christmas morning, or so we hope!
As for the sleeping streak, that seems to have been a fleeting dream. Either that or we need to see the chiropractor every day. Dalton woke up last night at 11:45 and Braxton at 12:00. They didn't fall asleep until 5:00am. Anybody know any pediatric sleep specialists in the Nashville area?!

Having twins can be so rewarding and so crazy at the same time. After a crazy trip to Walmart, I got my reward. As I was carrying the bags upstairs I saw Braxton 'reading' to Dalton. Dalton got closer and then put his arm around his brother. I love these moments...

On that note, it is night-night time. We are on a streak - the boys have slept through the night 2 nights in a row! We are in shock, to say the least! Their chiropractor tried a new treatment and it looks like it is working!!
Good night, everyone!

Well so much for the attempt at taking the Christmas picture. The boys are not in the picture taking mood, which is making mom not in the picture taking mood! So, we made Christmas cookies! As we put the dough on the cookie sheet, I realized that we were missing some cookies. Look closely at the picture and you will see where Dalton's cookies went!

Merry, Merry! Off to try this again...!

Ahhh...the annual Christmas card photo shoot. Why did I think it would get easier as they got older? I hate to admit it, but I bribed them with chocolate cake. However, it didn't quite work out the way I had hoped. So, we will try again today - this time I will use my secret weapon: white chocolate chips! As Mike says, 'They get it honest." Where I am the milk chocolate fan, Mike is a white chocolate addict!

The boys visited with Santa Claus and they didn't cry! This is a first for the Beckman boys!
Braxton asked for a fishing pole and Dalton asked for a Thomas (the Train) fishing pole. Only problem is that they don't make Thomas fishing poles. Looks like Santa has some work to do...

Welcome! We now have a 'blog'! While I am still trying to figure out exactly how this thing works, what I can tell you is that we now have a great way to communicate all of those cute (and not so cute) things the boys do. Since we can't see eachother as often as we would like, this will help us all stay in contact!
A big thank you to my friend Chelle who showed me this website!
Take care! Love, The Beckmans
